A465 Weekend Road Closure Trewaun, Hirwaun - 9th to 12th December 2022.

Between 20:00 Friday 9 December and 06:00 Monday 12 December the A465 will be closed between the Hirwaun (Trewaun) and A470 (Cefn Coed) junctions. During this closure we will be realigning the carriageway onto a new temporary stretch of the A465 in the area of Tramway just east of the Hirwaun (Trewaun) roundabout. (See illustration) This will allow us to progress the construction work of the new A465 dual carriageway at this location, which requires the level of the current A465 to be lowered by around 7m. Over the weekend we will also be installing the new Pentwyn Cynon multi-user bridge which establishes a new crossing over the A465 at Tramway.  We will notify you separately once the bridge is open for use. Other work will also be undertaken throughout the closure area. An official diversion will be in place at: www.a465.org/HirwaunCefnDiversion We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

UPDATE: A470 Temporary Overnight Closures from A465 Cefn Coed Junction to A4059 Upper High Street.  The contingency closures of the A470 this evening and tomorrow evening, as previously advised, are no longer required as the work has been completed.
