Letter to editor: RNIB Cymru children’s letters from Santa

Below, please find a letter letting you and your readers know all about how we’re helping children with sight loss receive a letter from Father Christmas in a format that’s accessible to them.

We’d love for children across Wales to feel included in the magic of Christmas – regardless of their level of sight – and it would be great if you could help us get the word out.

Letters are available bilingually, so a Welsh version of the letter is attached in case it’s of use.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas when it comes

Dear editor

The nights are drawing in and the air is getting crisp, which can only mean one thing: Christmas is fast approaching.

Every year, children all over Wales receive letters from Santa, bringing the joy of the season straight to their doorstep.

With the help of RNIB’s elves, Santa makes sure that children with a vision impairment are part of the magic too by making his letters available in braille, audio, and large print.

Of course, to make sure no child is left out this Christmas Santa’s letters are available in English or Welsh, so everyone really is included.

If your readers have a child in their life who’d love to receive an accessible letter from Santa, the process couldn’t be easier. Just head to rnib.org.uk/santa and use the form to fill in a few details and voila! It really is magic.

Just make sure letters are requested by 30 November to give Santa plenty of time to get his post sent out before the big day.

Merry Christmas!
