Inspirational learners, volunteers and tutors supported by Caerphilly Adult Community Learning have been recognised at the Gwent Adult Learning Partnership Awards 2024/25, hosted by Coleg Gwent at Bryn Meadows Golf Club, Pontllanfraith.
Caerphilly Adult Community Learning, part of the Gwent Adult Community Learning Partnership, celebrated five local winners:
- Learner of the Year – Belinda Griffett
- Tutor of the Year – Elizabeth Millington
- Learner Group of the Year – Friday Pottery Group
- Volunteer of the Year – Helen Millington
- Linda Bailey ‘Hwyl’ Award – Sandra Palmer
Each award highlights personal growth, dedication, and the positive impact of community learning across the borough.
Cllr Carol Andrews, Cabinet Member for Education and Communities, said:
“These awards show the power of lifelong learning. Our winners are a credit to themselves and the wider community – congratulations to each of them.”
The event also featured contributions from Coleg Gwent leaders and the Learning and Work Institute.
