Your hands can Save Lives! Learn how to restart a heart.
Restart a Heart Day is a designated day of action across Europe with the aim to teach vital life saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills to as many people as possible.
On Monday 16th October, Welsh Hearts, Wales’ Leading Heart Charity will be holding free CPR & defibrillator training event at the Pier Head Building, Senedd, National Assembly for Wales.
Every second counts when suffering a cardiac arrest. CPR & Defibrillator training will equip people with vital emergency and life-saving skills, including training on how to safely use a defibrillator and how to perform effective CPR – the knowledge and actions that could save a life.
Training will give you the confidence to act quickly and effectively if faced with a real life emergency.
Sharon Owen, Charity Director said “ We are honoured to be taking part in restart a heart day this year. An initiative that is close to our hearts considering that 8000 sudden cardiac arrests take place outside hospital in Wales every year, with only a 3% survival rate. A defibrillator is able to restart the heart during a cardiac arrest, and can save lives. When used, the survival rate can increase to 50%, but a speedy response is crucial!”

The event is free to attend. Everyone is welcome, including large groups such as schools and businesses.
