Welsh Government to extend Pupil Development Grant
The Welsh Government is extending the Pupil Development Grant with an additional element to cover the cost of school uniforms, school sports kit and activities such as scouts and guides outside school.
The additional scheme, called Pupil Development Grant – Access will have a fund of £1.7million.
The fund will also help parents with funding and equipment for out of hours school trips and equipment within the curriculum like design and technology.
The fund will be available from September 2018, and for the first time will be available for children in Reception and Year 7, as well as covering all looked after children in these year groups.
