RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, ABERCYNON) (REVOCATION, VARIATION, WAITING RESTRICTIONS, ONE WAY TRAFFIC AND SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council propose to make various Orders under Sections 1, 2, 4, 81, 82, 82 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the Traffic Regulation Orders specified in Schedule 1
2. Vary the Traffic Regulation Orders specified in Schedule 2
3. Introduce Waiting Restrictions on the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 3
4. Introduce a One Way Traffic System on the roads specified in Schedule 4
5. Introduce a 20mph speed limit on the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 5
A copy of the relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the Principal Offices of the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, The Pavilions, Cambrian Park, Clydach Vale, Tonypandy, CF40 2XX and Abercynon Library, Ynysmeurig Road, Abercynon, CF45 4SU until 13 January 2020 Objections to the proposal together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing to the Traffic Manager, Sardis House, Sardis Road, Pontypridd, CF37 1DU by 13 January 2020
SCHEDULE 1 – Revocation
1. The “Mid Glamorgan County Council (Margaret Street (B4275) Abercynon) (One Way) Order 1983” shall be revoked in its entirety
2. The “Urban District of Mountain Ash (Ynysmeurig Road (Part of), Abercynon (One-Way)) Order 1962” shall be revoked in its entirety
SCHEDULE 2 – Variation
1. The “Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council (Various Streets in Rhondda Cynon Taff) Review of Existing Traffic Regulation Orders 2012” shall be varied in that a. Schedule 2 – Cynon-Part 2 – Item 8 shall be removed in its entirety
b. Schedule 2 – Cynon – Part 4 – Item 47, Station Road, Abercynon shall be removed in its entirety
2. The “Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2012” shall be varied in that the order referred to in the Schedule of Orders as: a. Mid Glamorgan County Council (Margaret Street, Walter Street and Edwards Street, Abercynon) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1979” shall be varied in that
i. Item (ii) shall be removed in its entirety
ii. Item (iv) shall be removed in its entirety iii. Item (v) shall be removed in its entirety iv. Item (viii) shall be removed in its entirety
b. The “Mid Glamorgan County Council (Herbert Street and Edwards Street, Abercynon) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1991” shall be varied in that Item 4 shall be removed in its entirety
SCHEDULE 3 – Prohibition of Waiting At Any Time
1. Margaret Street a. Southern side of the carriageway, from the common boundary of No. 1 and 2 Margaret Street for a distance of 5 metres in a north westerly direction b. Northern side of the carriageway, from a point approximately 4.75 metres south east of the centre of its junction with Martins Lane for a distance of 14 metres in a north westerly direction c. Both sides of Margaret Street from the north western side of its junction with Walter Street northwest for a distance of approximately 10 metres in a north westerly direction
2. Martins Lane a. Both sides of the road from its junction with Margaret Street for a distance of 5 metres in a north easterly direction
3. Walter Street a. Southern side of the carriageway, from a point approximately 16 metres south west of its junction with Margaret Street, to a point approximately 17.5 metres north east of its junction with Margaret Street, a distance of approximately 40.5 metres b. 4. Edwards Street a. Both sides of the carriageway, from its junction with Ynysmeurig Road for a distance of 8 metres in a south westerly direction to the common boundary of No. 1 and 1A Edwards Street b. North western side of the carriageway, from a point approximately 15 metres south west of a point opposite the centre of its junction with Margaret Street to a point approximately 15 metres north east of a point opposite the centre of its junction with Margaret Street, a distance of approximately 30 metres
5. Ynysmeurig Road a. Southern side of the carriageway, from the common boundary of No. 43 and No. 45 Ynysmeurig Road for a distance of 41 metres in a north westerly direction b. Northern side of the carriageway, from the common boundary of No. 40 and 40A Ynysmeurig Road, for a distance of 39 metres in a north westerly direction
6. Station Road a. Western side of the carriageway, from its junction with Ynysmeurig Road, for a distance of approximately 22 metres in a south westerly direction b. Eastern side of the carriageway, from its junction with Ynysmeurig Road, for a distance of 63 metres in a south westerly direction c. Western side of the carriageway, from the southern building boundary of ‘Junction Court Apartment’s’ for a distance of 24.5 metres in a south westerly direction d. Eastern side of the carriageway, from a point approximately 3 metres from its junction with Margaret Street for a distance of 5 metres in a north easterly direction
7. Herbert Street a. Both sides of the carriageway, from its junction with Edwards Street in a south easterly direction for a distance of approximately 5 metres

1. Margaret Street, proceeding its whole length, a distance of approximately 239 metres in a north westerly direction
2. Edwards Street, proceeding from the southern boundary of No. 58 Margaret Street to its junction with Ynysmeurig Road, a distance of approximately 71 metres in a north easterly direction
3. Ynysmeurig Road, proceeding from the common boundary of No. 42 and 44 Ynysmeurig Road for a distance of approximately 208 metres in a south easterly direction
4. Walter Street, proceeding from its junction with Margaret Street to its junction with Ynysmeurig Road, a distance of approximately 71 metres in a north easterly direction
