two year old pony suffered serious injuries at Mill Road, Ynysybwl

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses after a two year old pony suffered serious injuries in an attack between 8pm on Thursday evening (25th February) and 10am on Friday morning (26th February).

The incident happened on Mill Road, Ynysybwl. The pony, which is a cobb, suffered injuries to it’s neck and back.

Police Sergeant Ben Rowe said: “We know this incident will cause concern to the local community, in particular those people who own horses, and we would like to reassure them we are doing everything we can to identify those responsible so that appropriate action can be taken.

“At the current time we do not know what kind of motive any person would have to do this or what they were trying to achieve by carrying out this act, however it is clearly very concerning.

“If anyone has any information about the incident we would urge them to get in touch with us.”
