The Council has also once again provided funding to ensure that the festive season is celebrated in style in Tonypandy, Porth, Treorchy, Mountain Ash, Ferndale and Aberdare.

“Each of our towns has a wonderful history and has been an integral part of valley life for many decades. It is therefore fantastic to see these shopping hubs moving with the times and taking on the city centres.
“We all have a part to play in keeping our town centres vibrant places, which not only attract more and more shoppers, but also attract other stores and independent business to move into the area.

Christmas events for all the family are taking place during the festive season, with each town centre also receiving Council funding for a Christmas tree and festive lighting.

All town centres in Rhondda Cynon Taf have their own unique appeal, with a vast variety of stores and eating places to suit all tastes – and to make your Christmas shopping even easier, the Council is again providing FREEparking in all Council car parks in Aberdare and Pontypridd after 10am every day throughout December. Parking is FREE in all other Council car parks all year around.
