Golwg, Pennar, Taf and Cynon houses will be showcasing the talents that MACS students have to offer and the competition is sure to be fierce!

Eisteddfod day will mark the culmination of weeks of departmental competitions and March 3rd will see the houses battle it out for the title of Eisteddfod Champions 2017 in stage competitions to include; dance, gymnastics, vocal, instrumental and a few surprises!

Please remember your house coloured tops and singing voices on the day! Pob lwc pawb!"

The first modern National Eisteddfod was in Aberdare in 1861, in the old Market Hall, that the first modern day eisteddfod was held.

The Eisteddfod was to visit the Cynon Valley again  in 1885 (Aberdare), 1905 (Mountain Ash), 1946 (Mountain Ash) and 1956 (Aberdare). And in 1940, during World War II the eisteddfod was broadcast on the radio from Mountain Ash.
