MACS FORMER PUPIL ON TOUR WITH THE STEREOPHONICS
One of our very talented former pupils has currently been playing live to thousands of people in Belfast and Dublin, opening up for the Stereophonics on their UK & Ireland tour. Gavin Davies is the lead guitarist in the Aberdare based band ‘Fireroad’. For many years, Gavin was our organist at St. Margaret’s Church for our annual school carol concert, as well as assisting MACS in numerous musical extravaganzas. Richard Jones (lead singer and art teacher) has also spent time with us at MACS in the capacity of a supply teacher. The band have been given the huge honour of opening up for the Stereophonics at their two massive stadium shows in June, where they will play to over 50,000 people! MACS wishes them well and are awaiting a platinum disc to display in the school foyer, when they gain their chart success with their latest album!
