Leading Builders Merchant Opens New Branch In South Wales Valleys
LBS Builders Merchants Ltd have expanded their branch network by opening a new site in Aberdare, creating extra jobs for the area.
LBS’s new branch, on a site formerly occupied by Mendham’s Building Supplies, was acquired earlier this year, represented by South West Wales law firm, JCP Solicitors.
The move sees 10 new roles created, with a further 4 employees set to be taken on by the end of 2016.
LBS Managing Director Mark Davies said: “Aberdare, our 16th site, represents a significant investment for LBS and will allow us to develop our business along the Cynon Valley.
“The Aberdare branch represents a new format for us with all our trading brands on one site, Total Plumbing, Casey’s Roofing, Civils and Middleton Kitchens and Bathrooms. This new format will offer our customers an increased level of customer service.”
Trading on the site since August, LBS are pleased that the redevelopment of the yard, warehouse and new shop area are now completed.
JCP Director and Joint Head of Corporate, Betsan Powell, acted for LBS on the purchase. She said: “JCP’s commercial team has a long-standing and valued relationship with LBS and we were pleased to be able to work with them on this important acquisition.

JCP Solicitors has branches in Swansea, Cardiff, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, Fishguard and St Davids.
