Kick-start Scheme rolled out within CTMUHB

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is delighted to be taking part in the Government funded ‘Kick-start’ scheme, which supports young people to develop transferable skills and increase their opportunities for sustained employment.

In partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions, the aim of the scheme is to find a position within the Health Board for up to 30 people, aged between 18-24 years, who live in local communities within Cwm Taf Morgannwg.  The young people will work 25 hours a week on a six-month fully funded placement.  The roles will be within administration, clerical, facilities and wellbeing.

Lucy Forde, Talent and attraction lead within our People and Organisational Development Department is planning to place one of the young people within her team.  She said:

”We are delighted to have this opportunity for a young person join our team. As a Health Board we recognise the impact that COVID-19 has had on employment, especially for young people.  We are therefore pleased to be in the position to support our community and offer this fantastic experience and CV development opportunity.”

The scheme has already started recruiting young people within CTM and the placements will continue until the end of December 2021.
