Donation from Mountain Ash Golf Club supports a garden for patients at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon

A charity night organised by the captain of the golf club Scott Hillman, Paul Jones and other committee members raised £725 towards the refurbishment of the garden on the palliative care ward at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon. The charity night saw Wales and Lions player Scott Quinnell entertain the guests with stories from his rugby playing days with Scott Hillman chairing an auction.

Paul Jones, Director and Independent Financial Adviser of Continuum Financial Services is a Platinum Pledge Ambassador for City Hospice and actively raises money for the City Hospice – on this occasion Paul thought it would be a lovely tribute to split the money between the Hospice and palliative care ward at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon, where golf steward and close friend of many members Danny Jones sadly passed away in 2020.

Staff Nurse on the ward Emma Abel said: “We are extremely grateful for this donation from Mountain Ash Golf Club.  The donation will go towards tidying up the garden, adding new plants and garden furniture and give our patients an area where they can sit and relax and enjoy the outdoors with their families.”

The Health Board would like to thank the community who donated and Mountain Ash Golf Club for their kind donation.
