Call for Resignations of Health Minister Vaughan Gething and Cwm Taf Chief Executive Allison Williams and Chairman Prof Marcus Longley.

Following his questions to the First Minister in the chamber yesterday, Paul Davies AM is continuing his calls for Welsh Government accountability through the resignation of Health Minister Vaughan Gething. He said:

“This Minister has long run out of excuses that can convince me and the public that he is the best person for this job.

“I am calling for him to resign from his position, as well as Cwm Taf Chief Executive Allison Williams and Chairman Prof Marcus Longley.

“Yesterday’s terrible reports prove that those who oversaw the breakdown of these maternity services over the years cannot be the best people to steer them out of special measures. We need to instil confidence back into the system and the way to do that is to ensure that the people responsible for these services are properly accountable to the population they serve.

“The Welsh Government owes it to those affected, and those still reliant on these services, to hold the right people to account and do everything in their power to fix this.”
