100 care jobs available at recruitment fair

PEOPLE from Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) who are looking for a job or a change in career can talk to staff from an award-winning care provider about working in the industry during a recruitment fair this month (September, 2017).

Members of staff from Abacare, which has 100 vacancies to fill, will be at the jobs fair at Sobell Leisure Centre in Aberdare on Wednesday, September 27 from 10am until 7pm.

Karina Barrett, Recruitment Administrator at Abacare, said: “We’re really looking forward to attending the jobs fair, hosted by RCT Council, and meeting lots of people interested in working in the care industry.

“Anyone is welcome to come along, whether they have worked in care before or not as no experience is necessary. We have 100 vacancies to fill and are looking for kind and caring individuals to provide excellent levels of care to our service users.

“We are looking for people who would be committed to the role on a long-term basis so they can build great relationships with the service users we support. They’ll be able to carve out a career in the industry for themselves too thanks to advancement opportunities as we often promote within the company to help maintain our position of trust and allow continuity of care.”

“We offer free, full training, which includes a company induction, first aid, information on dementia, health and safety, food safety, infection control, handling medication and moving and handling service users, with the opportunity to achieve Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) after the initial six months probationary period.

“New recruits are given free uniforms, access to national staff discount scheme for all major brands as well as 28 days paid holiday, paid travel between calls and paid mileage.

“Anyone who isn’t sure whether working in care is for them or not will have the chance to speak to some of our carers about what it is like in the industry, how rewarding the job is and what opportunities for training and career advancement it can bring. We would urge anyone interested to come along and chat to us.”
