A week to go Until Conference

Only a week to go until Plaid Cymru’s annual conference - make sure you don’t miss out!

With the annual conference fast approaching, we can look forward to the events that will be taking place at the Aberystwyth Art Centre between the 9th and the 11th of September.

Ieuan Wyn JonesPlaid leader and the Deputy First Minister of Wales, Ieuan Wyn Jones AM, will be giving a speech, as will Elfyn Llwyd MP and the Assembly’s presiding officer, Dafydd Elis Thomas AM. There will also be a chance to welcome former Secretary of State for Wales Ron Davies to his first Plaid Cymru conference as a party member.

We have guest speakers such as Dr Eilidh Whiteford MP (SNP) and Frida Brepoels from EFA, who will certainly present an exciting, international dimension to the conference.

There will be special lectures by Dr Daniel Williams, Dr Dilys Davies and Dr Dafydd Trystan Davies, that will focus on a range of issues from the philosophy of Plaid Cymru to the future of Nationalism.
Dr Eurfyl ap Gwilym will be staging a seminar on the budget – a session aptly entitled ‘Do your Homework’, and there will be a session focusing on the Barnett formula with Dr Gerry Holtham.

There will also be a chance to interact with Plaid politicians. You can take part in discussions with Ieuan Wyn Jones AM, with Nerys Evans AM, as well as with former MP and AM Cynog Dafis.

A night of poetry is scheduled in the Coopers Arms on Thursday night with both poets and AMs taking part. On Friday night the Conference Gala dinner will take place at Penybryn Hall, with events coming to a close on Saturday evening with a review at Aberystwyth football club.

Don’t miss out on these events and more – come to Aberystwyth!
