A Care Council for Wales Conduct Committee hearing will be held in Cardiff on Tuesday, 16 March to consider allegations of misconduct against registered social worker, David Bowen.
It is alleged that Mr Bowen, a former employee of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, in the period between 1993 and 2008, conducted an inappropriate relationship with a service user/former service user, while working as a registered social worker.
The hearing will take place from 10am at the Novotel Hotel, Cardiff.
The Care Council is the social care workforce regulator in Wales. By registering with the Care Council, social workers are accountable for their conduct and practice. Action may be taken where the Conduct Committee agrees the allegations amount to misconduct. This means a worker may be removed from the Social Care Register and therefore would not be able to practice as a social worker in the UK.
Such sanctions are a part of the Care Council’s drive to improve the social care services used by around 150,000 people at any one time in Wales, and raise public confidence in those services.
