I am looking for some help from my friends at aberdareonline.. As you know i work as a carer in a local nursing home and we are currently on the look out for any old memories of aberdare and years gone by, this is so that we can help the people that we care for to remember good times.
i am looking for old postcards, books, pictures or stories of aberdare, these can be scanned and emailed to me so that we can print out the pictures if you want to.
I also need help in remembering old soap names, washing powder and stuff like that so that i can search ebay for these items.
we plan to make scrap books and memory boxes for them so that they can sit down and look through and enjoy.
thanks guys x

Hi Bunny, I have something
Hi Bunny,
I have something quite amazing and useful for you. You will have to collect. Back in 1994 the library service converted some old 16mm cine to a VHS film "1955 Queen of the Valleys".
It used to be on sale in the area.
I have a copy that you are welcome to have to show to the folks.
Already a friend of mine (in his 60's) has spotted his father working at the old cables factory and even his them wife to be who was 8 years old in the film.
contact me via www.tantrwm.co.uk to arrange pick up (we are next to the museum)
