Anyone found the water supplied by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water tasting a bit odd?
A phone call to Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water who explains, it appears that we in Cynon Valley get our water from Pontsticill Reservoir, the water level was low in the reservoir and the water has been treated because there was an algae growing in the water.

Yeah, we noticed that a few weeks back, but haven't got round to finding out why! It's not a really unpleasant taste, just earthy

Odd tasting water and a legionella outreak, hmmm, hope there is no connection!!
Legionella only like sitting
Legionella only like sitting dirty water above 35 deg c, it loves cooling tower, mist sprays and air con units. The source of this out break will be a large factory high on the heads of the vally. Some where like St merryn meat or yuasa batts site in rassau.
Check your shower head it loves showers especially in summer when its not used, give it a good clean once a month with bleach to kill it. If you have been away from home more than three days let all the taps run for at least 10 mins but wipe the spout of each taps before running.
