Looking for ways to keep the children occupied in the busy run-up to
Christmas? Don't forget that many of Rhondda Cynon Taf's leisure
centres and swimming pools will be offering free leisure activities and
swimming for youngsters aged 16 and under and their families during the
holidays.

Here are some of the activities on offer:

Abercynon Sports Centre (pool): Monday, December 22 - Snorkelling
9am to 10am; Tuesday, December 23 - Rookie lifeguards 9am-10am. Tel.

Aberdare Pool: Canoeing, Junior learn to swim (beginners and
improvers), snorkelling, snooker, stroke improvement session.
Activities are on December 22, 23, 29, 30 and January 2, 2009. Please
contact the pool on 01685 874252 for details.

Llantrisant Leisure Centre (pool) Diving and breastroke improvement sessions on December 22, 23 and 24. Tel. 01443 224616

Saturdays and Sundays are not included in the free children's
activities programme.

All leisure centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and
New Year's Day. Aberdare Pool, Llantrisant Leisure Centre and Rhondda
Sports Centre will be open on December 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31. All other
leisure centres will be closed for regular activities that week,
reopening on Friday, January 2, 2009. Some centres will be hosting New
Year's Eve parties.

Hawthorn Pool will be closed from Monday December 22, 2008 for
essential works to be carried out. The pool reopens on Friday, January
2, 2009.
