Aberdare traffic chaos

I would like to congratulate the 5yr old who planned the traffic diversions through and around Aberdare, last night I arrived at the top of Monk street at 5.30pm, I reached the bottom of Monk street just in time to see the sun setting over the heads of all the drivers that had gone feral due to the length of time spent festering in their cars.
The police had to turn out to shepherd the traffic through the lights that seem to be permanently stuck on Red.
The workers that are carrying out the redevelopement (chuckle,ROLF,LOL)of Aberdare who can sometimes be seen actually doing something if you have a spare 5 or 6 hours to observe them seemed bemused by the whole spectacle, while our rct overlords presumably flew home in their private jets.

See if most to major work

See if most to major work was done on Sunday none of these issues would happen

I spoke to the delivery

I spoke to the delivery driver for Peters Pies earlier. He's had to take back ten trays of pies from the chip shops in Aberdare because people aren't going there due to the works.

I won't be going anywhere

I won't be going anywhere near Aberdare until this work is finished, motion lotion is far too expensive to sit in a grid locked street.

I tried to take a blu-ray, (War Horse, good but not as good as the hype insisted. Fantastic HD sound on a quality 7.1 surround sound system), back to Blockbuster on Monday morning, abject failure, tried again on Monday evening and took me 15 minutes to just get off the by-pass and into the Duke Street car park.

Talked to my neighbour who's mother lives just off Monk Street, took him an hour and a half to get from his home to hers, a distance of just five miles.

This council couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. They'll never build a workhouse quickly enough for some.

Just like Ponty; this is

Just like Ponty; this is another case of "death by refurbishment". A classic example of how you destroy trade in a town.

I just cannot understand you

I just cannot understand you people. You complain about the town being run down, then, when something is being done you complain about that too.
there is an old saying "you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs" What would you like these contractors to do? Use a magic wand?

Yeah some nutter in the

Yeah some nutter in the council couldnt plan a shit let a lone arrange to road to work whilst the upgrade is going on.

Doesnt help when retards cant read a give way sign????

missgemini I heartily agree

missgemini

I heartily agree with the comments that have been said about the problems that Aberdare are having at this time!! One question that perhaps someone can help me with is 'why are the buses not going down passed the Palladium?' The cars are able to go down there, so why not buses? This is killing the businesses at the top of town. The hairdressers and the beauty shop are having people cancel their appointments, because the buses are going down the road passed Tesco, and people just don't want to walk backup Canon Street!!! These shops were struggling before. Now the traffic diversions and the redevelopment are not helping these local businesses!!! I don't suppose RCT will lower their council tax for these shops, for all the custom they are losing!!!

Traffic in Aberdare must be

Traffic in Aberdare must be bad as it is broadcast on BBC radio Wales’s daily traffic report.

Today BBC presenter Roy Noble said the traffic was bad and he went on to say they will be sending in food parcels before long.

I am informed that Canon

I am informed that Canon Street will be closed to traffic for 6 weeks starting next month.

Happy days ahead I think for shopkeepers
