Cynon valley writers circle
The Cynon Valley writers circle performing Clec's at St. Fagans Church hall Trecynon A group of individuals drawn together by our love of words, we exist mainly to support, encourage and inspire each other. The Cynon Valleys Writers' Circle has been in existence since 1986 and meets every other Tuesday, in a friendly and informal atmosphere, in Highland Place Church schoolroom (third turning right, off Monk Street) We hold two internal competitions annually - an article competition in January and a short story competition in September when we invite a published author to adjudicate. We entertain various groups, such as Women's' Institutes; Church groups; Senior Citizens Associations and birthday parties etc.with readings of our work. At various times we have invited well-known authors to speak at our meetings and to hold workshops and these have been a great success. Our Committee consists of Secretary, Wendy Davies; Treasurer, Sylvia Reardon; Minute Secretary, Myrtle Jones; and myself, Chairperson, Marian Whippey. We are always happy to welcome new members so why not visit us? I am sure you will have an enjoyable evening. Looking forward to meeting you! More information
