Aberdare Aiki-Jutsu

Aiki-Jutsu is one of the oldest recognised martial arts with a history traceable back to the 12th century it is the art that the japanese samurai trained in.

It is the forerunner to Aikido it is a weapons and empty hand system. The main weapons used are the Bo staff (6ft long staff) and the Bokken which is a wooden sword.

The empty hand syllabus covers punching, striking, kicking, throwing, takedowns, ground controls, armlocks, nerve holds and chokes and strangles.

Class times

We train on Monday 7pm - 9pm at Trecynon Hall and Wednesday 7pm - 9pm at the Michael Sobell Sports
